2005-05-20 [Willow Darkling]: I know this ain't a poem or anything but it's SO true!! "Teddy bears are the best friends in the world. You can tell them every one of your deepest darkest secrets, but they will never tell on you nor will they judge."
2005-05-25 [Artsieladie]: ...And that's just ONE of their 'wonderful features'!!! :-)
2005-08-01 [farawaygone]: awww minnie joshua bear!
2005-08-12 [Artsieladie]: Listen up, folks! I think that we have our own little Teddy Bear STAR! .....little Joshua 'bear'! Can I squeeze? :D
2005-08-15 [farawaygone]: Yes you can squeeze him lol!!!
2005-08-17 [Artsieladie]: OK....I love to 'squeeze' ! :D
2005-09-09 [Artsie_ladie]: Yay! I'm a Teddybear Lover! *hugs a couple* :)
2005-09-09 [Artsieladie]: Welcome to Teddy Bear Lovers....[Tawnee.] & [Artsie_ladie]! I'm looking for more members. Tell your friends!!! :)
2005-09-12 [Artsieladie]: [Akayume]...Welcome to the wiki for Teddybear lovers! :)
2005-09-21 [Artsieladie]: I was thinking about you, [gruffybear] while I made these "Footbears"! ....oh, I mean Football Bears! lol You can put them in your house, if you like! You have my permission.... :D
2006-01-21 [Artsieladie]: Hey! Welcome to Teddybear Lovers here on ET, [Akayume]! :))
2006-07-27 [Artsieladie]: Hey! Welcome to Teddybear Lovers here on ET, [Misty Lady]! :)) Wow! Do I need to get here! *sighs* I think I need to spend a week just on Elftown here. I have so much to catch up with here, especially friends! :O
2006-10-25 [Artsieladie]: Welcome, [Morningstar Rising] to Teddybear Lovers on Elftown! :D
2006-10-25 [Misty Lady]: Oh hello [Artsieladie]. I think this is a wonderful wiki...I love popping in from time to time. I also love your house. Its so colorful and warm and friendly. Its a real pleasure to browse through.
2006-10-26 [Morningstar Rising]: Thanks, glad to be here. :)
2007-03-26 [Artsieladie]: Welcome to Teddy Bear Lovers, [Dark Side of the Moon]! :D Hi, ladies! *huggles & grins* Am I bad or am I bad? I just haven't been able to get here. This wiki needs a fresh look! :P
2007-03-26 [Morningstar Rising]: *laughs* you will get around to it.
2007-03-27 [Artsieladie]: I've started the 'fresh look' with this page. :)
2007-03-27 [Artsieladie]: I'm thinking about a Teddybear Photo Contest, a Teddybear Art Contest, &/or a Teddybear Poetry Contest. Any thoughts, anyone? :P)
2007-08-05 [Artsieladie]: Welcome to Teddy Bear Lovers, [Grandamelf]! I, too, have lots & lots of Teddybears, too many most might say. :D
2007-08-07 [Morningstar Rising]: I have a few, not many, but enough.
2007-08-07 [Artsieladie]: I'm thinking about selecting a few to keep & then the rest, I'll wash & take to a nursing home or somewhere where they can be hugged & cuddled. The folks that are in the nursing homes really love to have stuffed animals to hug. I think about children who are ill, too. A Teddybear can be a significant, positive symbol for hope. :D
2007-08-07 [Grandamelf]: If I had to choose between Art or Poetry for a Teddybear contest, I would choose poetry because everyone has thoughts about their favorite bears, so I think you would get more entries! Tough Choice! :)
2007-08-07 [Artsieladie]: I think I agree, b/c it would be easier to portray thoughts & feelings relating to our Teddybears or Teddybears in general through words rather than visual art. :P
2007-08-07 [Morningstar Rising]: I can help you run it if you want to make one.
2007-08-07 [Dark Side of the Moon]: oh boy, a teddy bear poetry contest! *starts thinking* Did anyone have a weird name for theirs? My teddy bear's name was Grape. oO
2007-08-07 [Artsieladie]: I think a poetry contest would be good, b/c there really aren't that many writing contests on ET, that I'm aware of, aside from an occasional official one, usually associated with a holiday, and the Daily Poem, of course. The DP isn't a contest, though, actually. My concern is, however, could enough interest & participation be sparked for it? :P He he [Dark Side of the Moon], I wasn't as ingenious or original. My first Teddybear I simply called "Teddy". Some other names are: Fuzzy-Wuzzy, Angel, Charlie, Bear, Jingles, Buddy, & Wubby-Dubby. :D
2007-08-07 [Dark Side of the Moon]: Wubby-Dubby! lol! Unfortunately, a couple of years ago I threw Grape into the washer to get her cleaned up. Folks, please take my advice: never toss an old teddy bear into a washing machine. The carcass was plastered against one side and the stuffing lined the bottom. I cried.
2007-08-07 [Artsieladie]: Aww, that's a shame. *hugs* I use a fine-washables netting bag & the delicate cycle. Even so, very little agitating, mostly soaking & hand squeezing. :P
2007-08-07 [Dark Side of the Moon]: Yeah, I used the delicate cycle also; but alas, it was too much for Grape. There's no way of repairing her now, so my dad's going to build a shadowbox to put her in. Thanks Artsie, I'll have to remember that the next time I wash my stuffies! Maybe hand-washing would be best.
2007-08-08 [Artsieladie]: I hand wash anything I really like a lot or if I suspect in the slightest that it might not be able to withstand the washing machine's agitating. I only wish I had known before & thus, could have told you before you washed Grape.
2007-08-08 [Grandamelf]: Hi, I had a pink Bear when I was a child, I called Woolenuff!
2007-08-08 [Artsieladie]: *grins* That's a cute, unique, & original name. How did you come up with the name? :D
2007-08-09 [Morningstar Rising]: I was thinking, you know how I run the regular poems contest on elfpack, what do you think if I start one here, I can run them at the same time and the first theme could be Teddy Bears
2007-08-09 [Artsieladie]: Hmm..sounds good. :D We could, perhaps, have a theme about dreams, too. Wow! This idea/theme we started talking about...how long ago? :P)
2007-08-09 [Morningstar Rising]: for me it was just the other day, but from what I have read, it has been some time. LOL
2007-08-09 [Artsieladie]: I'm talking about the 'dream' idea. :P)
2007-08-09 [Morningstar Rising]: Oh that yea that is a good one, have a few poems I created from dreams. LOL
2007-08-09 [Grandamelf]: I was very young when I got it for Christmas,it was pink and wooley, I ask mother to read the tag! It said Woolenuff! So that is what I called my bear! I was shocked to find out many year later, the My little pink bear was suppose to be a lamb!
2007-08-09 [Morningstar Rising]: that is a great story.
2007-08-09 [Artsieladie]: I agree. :D
2007-08-13 [Grandamelf]: Hi Teddybear lovers! My Teddybears sure get more sleeps than I do these days! It is so hot, I am about to dry up and blow away!
2007-08-13 [Dark Side of the Moon]: ugh! Isn't this Midwest weather awful?!
2007-08-13 [Artsieladie]: It's not only in the Midwest. I live near the eastern coast & the heat is just awful. Even Canada has been sweltering. We're embarking on some cooler weather for a few days & I will be glad to turn off the AC. :P
2007-08-13 [Morningstar Rising]: Well here in Florida, we have to keep the ac going like most of the year. Sometimes for a short period of time we don't need it, cause it does get a bit cool during the winter. I like those days the best.
2007-08-13 [Artsieladie]: I could never live in Florida. Summer by me is enough hot & muggy weather for me. :O
2007-08-13 [Morningstar Rising]: Female, yesterday I stepped outside into the balcony and almost died. I mean all I was breathing was hot air and that sucked. I was more then happy to come back into the nice cool ac apartment.
2007-08-13 [Artsieladie]: Hmm... This is exactly what I couldn't take year around. :P
2007-08-13 [Grandamelf]: I am basically an outdoor lover, So staying inside drives me up the wall! I have lived in an apartment now for several years, AC or not, if I can't go outside, I freak out! Just the short walk from the building to the car this week has been overwhelming! :0 Gasp!
2007-08-14 [Morningstar Rising]: *laughs* I am getting used to the heat, it does not bother me as much as when I first came to live down here. But these past few days have been like, oh my god, no way am I going to stay outside.
2007-08-14 [Dark Side of the Moon]: ditto. It's like being smacked in the face with a wet sock.
2007-08-14 [Artsieladie]: Yeah, & the heat gets to ya after awhile. You feel tired, logy, & irritable. :/
2007-08-14 [Morningstar Rising]: Yep, but today is a good day, it is raining and the heat is down and I love storms. hehehehehe
2007-08-14 [Grandamelf]: RAIN! Oh, you lucky dog!
2007-08-14 [Morningstar Rising]: *hehehehe* yep and its so nice and cool out here right now, I am going to go sit in the balcony and watch it rain.
2007-08-15 [Artsieladie]: It's finally a nice day by me. Our temps are expected to be in the mid 70's to 80 degree range for the next 4 or 5 days. Yay! :)
2007-08-15 [Grandamelf]: Gee, our heat is rising! index today 101 and on the rise thru the rest of the week! We now have "cooling centers" in our town!
2007-08-15 [Artsieladie]: I feel for all of you trying to beat the heat. I'm glad that we are getting a little reprieve. :P
2007-08-15 [Morningstar Rising]: well I grew up in the north and winters were like OH MY GOD, really bad. But I was used to them, and now I am kind of used to the heat. Not there all the way, but getting there. I don't know how I would deal with the harsh temps of back home, having lived here where the coldest it has gotten has been in the high 30's. Everyone use to tell me it got cold out here, but I never believed them. It does get cool, but not cold enough to have to wear a thick winter coat.
2007-08-15 [Artsieladie]: I don't like it cold, either. A nice, happy medium would be great. lol
2007-08-15 [Morningstar Rising]: I have to agree with you, a nice happy medium would indeed be great. I think that is why I love the fall and the ending of spring. LOL
2007-08-15 [Artsieladie]: :) This is why I like the fall & the spring, but they are being absorbed by winter & summer. Poo! :P
2007-08-15 [Morningstar Rising]: Yea they are, soon it will only be two seasons. Oh thats not good at all.
2007-08-16 [Artsieladie]: No. We will all be either too hot or too cold!
2007-08-16 [Morningstar Rising]: yep thats the truth of it.
2007-08-16 [Artsieladie]: Brrrrrr *sweats* brrrrrr *sweats* ....... lol :P
2007-08-16 [Morningstar Rising]: hehehehehehehe
2007-08-16 [Artsieladie]: *laughs* This is probably about what it'll be like...hot, cold...hot, cold... :P
2007-08-18 [Morningstar Rising]: yea I agree, but will it always be cold in one area and hot in the other, or will it alternate from hot to cold and back again.
2007-08-18 [Artsieladie]: Hmmm...either way, I reckon it won't be good. :P
2007-08-18 [Morningstar Rising]: have to agree with you.
2007-09-30 [Grandamelf]: It is about time to get the jackets out!
I am sorry I haven't bee here in a while.
2007-09-30 [Artsieladie]: Yar, I'll say! The nights are getting a wee bit chilly. :P
2007-09-30 [Misty Lady]: Getting very chilly here too. We've had a terrible summer. I hate it when its darker earlier in the evenings.
2007-09-30 [Artsieladie]: Oh, me, too! Pretty soon the clocks go back & it seems like it's even that much worse. Argh! :P
2007-09-30 [Misty Lady]: It feels so weird getting up for work in the dark and coming home again in the dark and now all the christmas stuff is in the shops and I've only just got back from a summer holiday.
2007-09-30 [Artsieladie]: They start pushing Christmas earlier & earlier every year, I think. Pretty soon, they won't need to even take it down or away, just leave it where it is! :-O
2007-10-01 [Grandamelf]: Ha Ha! My daughter is so unhappy in Japan that she did actually leave her tree up! She just decorates is for different Occasions!
2007-10-01 [Artsieladie]: Well, there's an idea. No law I know of that says a tree can't be a Halloween tree, for e.g.. ;)
2007-10-02 [Grandamelf]: Actually , I have a "crafty" wood post wrapped in a green garland that I have used for a variety of holidays.
2007-10-02 [Dark Side of the Moon]: hee hee! The all purpose tree! I've seen Christmas trees, Halloween trees, Easter trees. Why don't we have a turkey tree for Thanksgiving? hmmm... *gets ideas*
2007-10-02 [Artsieladie]: Yeah, I say, "Why not?" :D Morphing of the Christmas tree! lol
2007-10-03 [Morningstar Rising]: Sounds like a good idea, instead of using your tree once a year, you can use it all year long. "The Everything Tree, not just for Christmas any more, come and get yours while they last." hehehehehehehe
2007-10-03 [Morningstar Rising]: bye the way it is way to hot over here, seems like summer is never going to end.
2007-10-04 [Artsieladie]: Hmmm...we're going up into the 80's today, tomorrow & Saturday AND it's October! :/
2007-10-05 [Morningstar Rising]: yea seems there is no relief in sight for us yet.
2007-10-05 [Dark Side of the Moon]: Hot here too. Stupid hot weather... *throws rocks at it*
2007-10-05 [Artsieladie]: he he The air is a bit 'soupy'. Perhaps, we can make some stone soup? I know, bad pun! I'm tired. -_-
2007-10-05 [Morningstar Rising]: *giggles* funny, wondered what stone soap would taste like. Will it have that rich earthy taste?
2007-10-06 [Artsieladie]: Hmmm....You don't know how the 'stone soup tale' goes? :D
2007-10-06 [Dark Side of the Moon]: I remember that story!
2007-10-06 [Artsieladie]: *grins* It's a good story. :D
2007-10-08 [Morningstar Rising]: *looks around innocently* lNope never heard it.
2007-10-08 [Artsieladie]: It's basically about taking what everyone thinks is nothing or that they don't have anything. However, each realize they can find something to contribute to the pot & then they have this delicious soup as an end result! :D
2007-10-08 [Morningstar Rising]: okay, so someone brought stones for the soup. hehehehe
2007-10-08 [Dark Side of the Moon]: http://www.sto
2007-10-09 [Morningstar Rising]: okay thanks will take a look.
2007-10-09 [Morningstar Rising]: went and checked it out, nice story.
2007-10-09 [Artsieladie]: Thanks, [Dark Side of the Moon]! :D The way I learned it, it didn't have 3 soldiers as characters, but the plot is the same. :) Hmm...this is the idea I need to implement on Elf12! :P
2007-10-10 [Morningstar Rising]: yep it sure is.
2007-10-11 [Grandamelf]: I wonder if our tradition of "Pot Luck" dinners has evolved from that story. It has been around since before I was born! LOL! My grandmother read it to me.
2007-10-12 [Morningstar Rising]: Would be interesting to find out.
2007-10-13 [Artsieladie]: Good & interesting point, Sis. *wonders, too* :D
2007-10-13 [Grandamelf]: I thought since the version of the story a got as I child was that.. it was a poor man who started the soup for his guests and said: Oh, It would be so much better if it had a patato, an so a guest came up with a potato.. and so on, until the stone was the least of the ingredients, and everyone had contributed to the soup! (a clever host!)
2007-10-13 [Grandamelf]: Unfortunatly, I am a very bad typist! Tee Hee!
2007-10-13 [Artsieladie]: Yes. If everyone contributed a little, there would be a whole lot for all. :)
2007-10-13 [Grandamelf]: Speaking of "Teddy Bears" (which we were not,Lol!)
In the days of Radio, there was a show for kids, called the "Buster Brown Show" (showing my age, Hehe) anyway, it had a delightful little song called the "Teddy Bear's Picnic" I sure wish I could remember all the words to it! Does anyone know the Song?
2007-10-14 [Artsieladie]: I'm afraid I don't know the song. :'P
2007-10-15 [Grandamelf]: I only remember part of it! " If you go out in the woods today, you better go in disquse..If you go out in the woods today you're in for a big surprise!.....
2007-10-16 [Grandamelf]: Yipee! That is the song! Thank you Ir-Iddyn!
2007-10-16 [Grandamelf]: oops! That is!
2008-02-21 [Grandamelf]: Boo Hoo! I came to the party and No one was here! I even drew a Teddy Bear! In my just for fun wiki page
